You may be asking yourself “what is a podcast,” so here is the definition: A podcast is a type of digital media consisting of an episodic series of audio files subscribed to and downloaded through web syndication or streamed online to a computer or mobile device. I enjoyed creating a podcast, as it allowed me to be creative, edit some background music, be lighthearted, and yet at the same time explain my goals and philosophies as a future educator. This would be a good way to have students do group presentations for one idea. Another idea for use in the classroom would be to have students create a podcast based on a book that was read in class. Those are just a couple ideas, but I’m sure there will be many more to come as my time in the classroom progresses.
